Abu Dhabi Introduces 10-Year Golden Visa for Skilled Workers

Abu Dhabi has introduced a 10-year Golden Visa aimed at attracting skilled professionals across various sectors. This initiative offers long-term residency to individuals who meet specific criteria, facilitating their ability to live and work in the emirate.​

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Employment Status: Applicants must be employed in the UAE.​

  • Occupational Classification: The role should be classified under the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) occupational classification scheme as:​

    • Level 1: Managers and Business Executives.​

    • Level 2: Professionals in fields such as Sciences, Engineering, Health, Education, Business and Management, Information Technology, Law, Sociology, and Culture.​

  • Educational Qualification: A minimum of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent is required.​

  • Salary Requirement: A minimum monthly salary of AED 30,000 or its equivalent.​

  • Practicing License: For professions that require licensing (e.g., physicians, pharmacists, teachers), a valid practicing license in the UAE is necessary. ​

Application Process:

To apply for the Skilled Professionals category of the Abu Dhabi Golden Visa, applicants need to provide:​

  • Evidence of employment in a position classified as Level 1 or 2 by MOHRE.​

  • A valid practicing license in the UAE for professions that mandate such credentials.​

  • Proof of educational qualifications and salary. ​

Benefits of the Golden Visa:

  • Long-Term Residency: A renewable 10-year residency in Abu Dhabi.​

  • Family Sponsorship: Ability to sponsor family members, including spouses and children, regardless of their ages.​

  • No Sponsor Requirement: The privilege of not needing a sponsor.​

  • Extended Stay Abroad: The ability to stay outside the UAE for more than six months without affecting the validity of the residency. ​
